About Resilient Minds Therapy

A private practice built on clinical excellence, human connection, and the belief that healing is always possible.

Our Philosophy

At Resilient Minds Therapy, we believe therapy works best when it feels genuinely human. We don’t believe in one-size-fits-all treatment. Our approach brings specialized clinical training together with warmth, curiosity, and genuine connection, because meaningful change happens when you feel both supported and understood.

Our work is grounded in evidence-based trauma treatment while remaining flexible and responsive to each individual. We recognize that past experiences can shape the way we feel, respond, connect with others, and move through the world—often long after those experiences have passed. Therapy creates an opportunity not only to understand these patterns, but to process what continues to feel stuck and create meaningful, lasting change.

We believe in meeting you where you are without leaving you there. Therapy moves at a pace that respects your needs while helping you move toward greater freedom, connection, and confidence in your life.

Meet Danielle Olmedo LPC, LMHC

I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor in Virginia, Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Florida, EMDR Certified Therapist, and founder of Resilient Minds Therapy, with more than a decade of experience in the mental health field. For the past several years, I’ve served as a clinical supervisor, supporting other clinicians in developing their skills and navigating complex clinical work.

Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of working with adolescents, adults, couples, and families through some of the most difficult and deeply personal experiences of their lives.

My work has increasingly centered on trauma, particularly complex and developmental trauma and the lasting effects of physical, sexual, and emotional abuse within families and relationships. I understand that these experiences can affect far more than our memories of the past—they can shape relationships, self-worth, emotional responses, and the ways we learn to protect ourselves.

In addition to being EMDR Certified, I have advanced training in Progressive Counting, Flash Technique, and Havening. My broader clinical experience includes anxiety, depression, mood disorders, family and relationship conflict, life transitions, attachment concerns, identity exploration, intimate partner violence, abuse and neglect, and intellectual and developmental disabilities.

What I value most about this work is the opportunity to build genuine relationships with my clients. I bring warmth, curiosity, and compassion into the therapy room while also being intentional about helping clients move toward the changes that brought them to therapy in the first place.

Outside of the therapy room, you’ll usually find me spending time with friends, enjoying anything that gets me outdoors and near the water, tending to my ever-growing collection of plants, or spending time with my animals.
